Four boys, one bench, zero serious faces

Four boys, one bench, zero chance of a serious expression. This is exactly the one their mom framed.

November is Portrait Month

Think about the photos you treasure most. They’re probably not the perfect ones. They’re the ones where Grandpa is mid-laugh, or your daughter is missing her front teeth, or everyone’s leaning into each other because that’s just how your family sits.

That’s what a family portrait is for. Not a stiff lineup against a backdrop, but a lasting legacy of the family: a real record of who you are right now, at this exact stage of life. Your children will never be this age again. Neither will you.

After 40 years behind a camera, I can tell you the portraits families come back to are never about the outfits or the location. They’re about connection. A hand on a shoulder. A look between two people who’ve known each other forever. Those are the images that get passed down, framed in hallways, and pulled out at weddings and Sunday dinners.

A teenager who’s willing to stand this close to his parents. Frame it.

It’s not just for the big gatherings

I love working with big family groups. Three generations, one composition is a challenge I’ll take any day. But some of my best sessions happen with small family units: parents, pets, children who are growing up faster than anyone planned. Teenagers especially. That window where they’re still home, still game to show up, is shorter than it feels. Whether you’re a party of three or a party of fifteen, a portrait now becomes part of your family’s legacy, the kind of image your children will want on their own walls someday.

My job is to make the session easy and a little bit fun, so you forget I’m there and just be yourselves.

What it costs

Pricing is à la carte, so you only pay for what you choose.

  • Session fee: $150. This covers your portrait session with me in the studio.

  • Finished images: $50 each. After your session, you choose the images you love. Each one comes as a finished digital file, retouched and ready for print or web.

  • Wall art: priced separately, below.

Prints for the wall

Your portrait deserves to be seen, not stored on a hard drive. Wall art is available in three finishes:

Prints price list - Oct. 2026.

Custom sizes and framing are available too. Framing applies to mounted prints and canvas. The best time to explore them is when you’re at the studio, where I can show you the frames I have on hand. It’s also a good chance to look at samples of the wall art I offer and see for yourself how the different products compare side by side.

Print prices do not include the $50 image price.

Why November, and why now

Prints take time, and Christmas doesn’t move. Sessions held in November leave room for printing and delivery, so your family portrait can go under the tree, or on the wall, before the holidays arrive.

I have only 11 sessions left in November, and once they’re full, they’re full. Book by November 8 to hold your spot.
